Position: ApprenticeshipNH Program Assistant (Department/Program Assistant II)

Hourly Compensation: $18.98 - $21.78

ROLE SUMMARY: This position involves a variety of clerical and programmatic support tasks, including the management of filing systems, assistance with event organization, outreach coordination, and procurement of program materials for the Apprenticeship initiative. The role reports directly to the Apprenticeship Program Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Address telephone and email inquiries, directing individuals to the appropriate ApprenticeshipNH team member.
  • Provide information to interested business partners, prospective applicants, and community organizations regarding the Registered Apprenticeship Program, including eligibility criteria, accessibility, and benefits for both businesses and participants.
  • Utilize computer applications for various tasks, including database management and Microsoft Office software.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of outreach events, sector-specific meetings, and participation in job fairs and informational sessions.
  • Support the scheduling of regular meetings with stakeholders and team members.
  • Maintain daily schedules and manage administrative support requirements.
  • Draft, type, distribute, and maintain meeting notes.
  • Assist in the organization and coordination of ApprenticeshipNH events.
  • Review work produced by others for correct spelling and grammar, ensuring adherence to company formatting policies, and suggest revisions as necessary.
  • Comply with all institutional, system, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent credential. Each additional year of approved formal education may substitute for one year of required work experience.

Experience: A minimum of four years in a secretarial or office support role.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in providing promotional and outreach support for career development and training initiatives. Familiarity with apprenticeship programs. Background in event planning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).

License/Certification: Valid driver's license or access to transportation for statewide travel.

DESIRED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment. Proficiency in English, spelling, and arithmetic. Familiarity with office record-keeping and reporting. Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze information, identifying existing or potential issues. Capability to contribute to the development of effective operational procedures.
