The Senior Accounting Associate is tasked with efficiently resolving credit and payment discrepancies, managing short pays, and ensuring the timely collection of accounts receivable.   • Financial Transaction Optimization: Enhance the company’s financial processes by performing payment and billing reconciliations.

  • Accounts Receivable Monitoring: Proactively contact clients via various communication methods to ensure timely collections.
  • Client Relationship Development: Strengthen relationships with clients by effectively communicating regarding overdue accounts.
  • Payment Status Research: Investigate payment statuses through available customer portals.
  • Billing Adjustments: Process approved adjustments to customer accounts.
  • Management Communication: Report discrepancies to management, identify slow-paying clients, and recommend collection strategies.
  • Credit Management: Review and approve orders for shipment when exceptions arise, ensuring proper credit limits and risk categories are established.
  • Credit Report Analysis: Utilize Bureau van Dijk for credit limit assessments according to Nordson standards.
  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare accounts receivable month-end reports and metrics.
  • Audit Support: Assist with audit requests as necessary.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other assigned duties as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred; an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is highly desirable.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience is required with an Associate degree; or a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience without a degree. Strong mathematical skills and excellent time management abilities are essential.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of credit reports and risk analysis.
  • Basic understanding of audit and SOX compliance.
  • Intermediate understanding of general ledger data.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting procedures related to the Order to Cash process.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong detail orientation and focus on data quality.
  • Adaptability and openness to change.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with IFS ERP software is a plus.
