Overview:
This role is pivotal in managing both raw materials and finished goods, ensuring they adhere to quality standards. The position involves meticulous tracking and inventory management of these materials.
It is essential to guarantee that raw materials are consistently available for production, facilitate trailer movements, and liaise with Transportation and Quality Assurance teams to resolve any issues.
The role also ensures that finished product inventory is sufficient for fulfilling sales and shipping orders.Responsibilities:
Handle all incoming and outgoing shipments of raw materials and finished products. Conduct accurate pallet counts and inspect pallets for any damages promptly. Report any discrepancies or issues to plant management in a clear and effective manner. Complete sales order processing and all necessary documentation to maintain product availability.
Adhere to all procedures and safety protocols to ensure the quality of incoming and outgoing products. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to conduct incoming quality assessments and sampling. Provide leadership support to the supervisor as needed.
Communicate and direct sequential instructions to various stakeholders clearly. Operate a forklift to assist with the loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products.
Process bills of lading for all shipments and ensure that any materials leaving the facility are properly sealed.
Conduct precise inventory counts of all items and process orders efficiently. Utilize critical thinking skills appropriate for the role.
Oversee and guide production staff to ensure adequate coverage, communicate priorities, and manage schedule adjustments as necessary. Train production employees and cover breaks as required.
Perform basic operational preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment used for material handling and inventory management.
Ensure smooth shift transitions and comprehensive communication of relevant information to prevent production interruptions. As needed, provide oversight for the upkeep and reliability of the machine center.
Coordinate and assist with all inbound and outbound dock operations, including receiving, unloading, induction, preparing sales orders, staging, and loading shipments.
Inspect all raw material trailers, including checking seals, recording and monitoring set points, and temperatures.
Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills and Abilities
Basic arithmetic skills.
General computer proficiency and knowledge.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
Demonstrated Competencies

Physical Requirements
This position requires walking, standing, twisting, reaching, bending, climbing, and lifting.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in plant production or a related field is preferred.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent, or demonstrable ability to perform essential job functions.
