We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager Assistant to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
About the Role
In this dynamic and challenging role, you will work closely with the Nurse Manager to supervise staff and unit operations, providing direct patient care and ensuring the delivery of safe and quality patient care on the unit. You will be responsible for overseeing a variety of patient care activities, including staff allocation and scheduling, patient assignments, rounds, and investigation/resolution of patient care issues.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide direct patient care consistent with the charge nurse/clinical registered nurse job description accountabilities, maintaining all clinical competencies outlined.
- Perform a variety of patient experience activities to ensure that patient experience expectations are met or exceeded, including role modeling, staff mentoring/coaching, patient rounds, service recovery, and problem resolution.
- Assist with continuing staff development, including clinical problem solving and decision making skills, and collaborate with clinical nurse educators to support new staff orientation and training.
- Perform a variety of administrative and quality management activities to ensure that quality expectations and regulatory requirements are met, including ensuring unit compliance with departmental, Prisma Health, safety, regulatory, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to perform a variety of human resources activities, including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, coaching, counseling, staff rounding, and performance management of unit staff.
- Assist the Nurse Manager in maintaining unit budget by appropriate allocation and utilization of unit resources, and share accountability with the Nurse Manager for unit/department/organizational goal achievement.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and 2 years of RN experience in an appropriate area of nursing. You will also need to be certified in nursing specialty and have previous management or supervisory experience.
