Job Summary

As a Radiology Assistant Student, you will play a vital role in supporting the Radiology Technologist staff in providing non-technical assistance to various departments. Your primary responsibility will be to expedite care through direct patient contact, including patient transportation, preparation, and specimen transportation. You will also be responsible for preparing imaging rooms and assisting with related tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients upon arrival and assist with necessary paperwork
  • Transport patients to appropriate imaging areas
  • Answer telephone calls and route them appropriately
  • Perform clerical functions as required
  • Assist with patient preparation and completion of examinations
  • Observe patients when required
  • Assist with patient positioning and lifting
  • Ensure all necessary supplies are available and stocked
  • Assist technical staff with imaging studies
  • Apply principles of patient safety
  • Effectively use the Radiology Information System
  • Maintain confidentiality and an ethical relationship with patients and medical records
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree medical imaging program with the intention of hospital-based radiologic school enrollment when eligible. You must also possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) and hold Basic Life Support Certification.
