Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician I to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a Medical Laboratory Technician I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform waived and non-waived tests in an accurate and timely manner, with supervision.
  • Assist with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements.
  • Process and prepare patient samples, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service.
  • Participate in the resolution of communication issues and promote positive communications that enhance teamwork.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience.
  • Meet other criteria defined in 42CFR, including US military medical laboratory procedures training courses.
  • Foreign educated candidates must provide a detailed credential evaluation from IERF or other nationally recognized credentialing agency for review.
  • Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy in departments where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MLT certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB).
  • Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and medical terminology.
  • Previous experience with phlebotomy and processing.
