The Position

This role involves cleaning hatchers, hatcher tops, and the surrounding room to ensure a low-to-zero bacteria and mold level. The successful candidate will be responsible for emptying hatcher racks back into the room upon completion of clean-up tasks.

Compensation Package

The target hourly wage for this position is $16.00. In addition to competitive hourly wages, Perdue offers an attractive benefits package, including medical/Rx coverage, a 401(k) plan with employer match after one year, critical illness insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, group life insurance options, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts, and paid time off.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Cleaning hatchers, hatcher tops, and the room to maintain a low-to-zero bacteria and mold level.
  • Emptying hatcher racks back into the room at the completion of clean-up tasks.
  • Maintaining knowledge of poultry welfare guidelines.
  • Ability to work effectively with chemicals and equipment such as brooms, shovels, mops, scrub brushes, hand scrubbing, and high-pressure washers.

Physical Requirements

This role requires exposure to temperatures ranging from 60°F to 105°F and humidities up to 100%. Personal protective equipment must be worn when working with chemicals, drugs, or vaccines. Ability to lift 4 pounds to a height of 6 feet, push 75 pounds a distance of 75 feet, and lift 20-25 pounds to a height of 3 feet is also required.
