About the Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of enterprise, government, and start-up businesses and organizations in over 190 countries around the world.

This role is critical in addressing financial deliverables, such as weekly business reviews, monthly financial reviews, operating plans, pricing/discounts, and driving the business to find efficiencies to grow profit.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the key business partner working directly with AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations.

Build financial models for new business concepts, make analytical judgments, and deliver data-intensive analyses to drive meaningful change.

Present financial summaries and business insights to the business and finance leadership.

Develop and standardize financial reporting packages.

Drive continuous improvements in profitability, free cash flow, and operational efficiency.

About the Team

This role will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, including product managers, engineers, and GMs, to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership.

This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations.

Basic Qualifications

8+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.

3+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.) experience.

6+ years of accounts receivable or account payable experience.

6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.

6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience.

6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.

5+ years of directly managing and leading a team of 5+ members experience.

Preferred Qualifications

6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.

6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.

6+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience.

3+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience.

MBA, or CPA.

Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase or Cognos) and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses to management for strategic decision-making.

The base pay for this position ranges from $125,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market.
