Overview

Amano McGann, Inc. (AMI) is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in Roseville, Minnesota. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring the excellence of software and firmware for both new and existing features related to parking devices, payment solutions, and reporting applications. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-sufficient, and thrives in both independent and collaborative environments. This role involves direct interaction with product owners to grasp product concepts, release objectives, and critical user flows to guarantee comprehensive quality coverage. Additionally, the engineer will oversee the establishment and upkeep of testing laboratories and environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all facets of Quality Assurance, including defining scope and scenarios, executing comprehensive testing, and documenting outcomes.
  • Develop and configure QA environments, including equipment, software, and hardware devices, which may involve discrete wiring, networking, and mechanical assembly.
  • Quickly gain proficiency in company products and acquire domain knowledge across all offerings over time.
  • Regularly assess and report on the performance of each product.
  • Create, execute, and maintain test cases within the test management tool.
  • Analyze testing outcomes and manage defect resolution.
  • Reproduce and meticulously document all issues identified during verification and validation processes.
  • Engage in grooming and sprint planning to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for significant defects released to customers or as necessary to enhance processes.
  • Participate in the triage process, replicate field issues, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Conduct security testing (Qualys, SSF, PADSS, SOC2) and regression testing.
  • Perform UI testing (UX, happy path, negative tests).
  • Execute other related duties as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Certification in one or more areas, including but not limited to:
    1. Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST)
    2. Certified Manager of Software Quality (CMSQ)
    3. Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA)
    4. Certified Software Testing Engineer (CSTE)
    5. International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB)
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Project, and Testing Methodologies (Agile, DevOps, Scrum, Waterfall, CICD).
  • Proficiency in using software testing and evaluation tools such as Jira, Zephyr, Confluence, Postman, and Syslog Watcher.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Linux, Mac, Windows, Android, iOS).
  • Knowledge of programming languages (C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Innovative mindset with a desire to explore new and more effective testing methodologies.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable for commitments.
  • Experience in testing SQL databases and utilizing API testing tools.
  • Working knowledge of loading and rebuilding PCs and VMs, as well as using environments in VMWare and on-premises computers.
  • Hands-on experience with lab setup, wiring, assembly, and reconfiguration (electronics, mechanical).
  • Cross-browser and cross-platform functional testing experience.
