The Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in our healthcare team, providing essential support to patients and ensuring their comfort and well-being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting patients with their daily routines and delivering fundamental nursing care.
- Communicating procedures to patients and engaging in educational activities.
- Providing compassionate meal service and interaction with patients.
- Safely turning and transferring patients as required.
- Accurately measuring and documenting patient intake and output.
- Maintaining a clean and organized patient environment.
- Reporting any changes in patient conditions to the supervising nurse.
- Fostering positive relationships with the public on behalf of the facility.
- Upholding patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Participating in initiatives aimed at quality improvement.
- Assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.
- Performing essential clinical skills and unit-specific tasks.
- Responding promptly to patient call lights.
- Monitoring patients on a one-on-one basis as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION: BLS certification required.
- EXPERIENCE: Prior experience as a Nurse Assistant is preferred.
- PATIENT INTERACTION: Skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Most of the shift involves standing.
- WALKING: Significant time spent walking throughout the facility.
- LIFTING: Proper body mechanics must be used for lifting and transferring patients.
- VISUAL: Ability to observe and assess patient care areas effectively.
- HEARING: Capability to auscultate blood pressures and respond to patient call systems.
- SPEAKING: Essential for addressing patient needs and communicating with the healthcare team.
