This is an entry-level position in mechanical maintenance, responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy industrial equipment and a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks on mechanical systems, including preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Work with contractor personnel to ensure quality control and productivity.
- Participate in training programs to acquire and broaden technical and non-technical job skills.
- Interact with terminal staff to gather and communicate information, solve problems, and provide assistance.
- Assist with repairs and maintenance of equipment, including services and lubrication as required.
- Suggest programs to reduce costs and increase productivity, taking independent action to resolve problems when necessary.
- Participate in team meetings and apply skills to perform work in other positions as assigned.
- Work rotating shift schedules and weekends as required, supporting other terminal functions as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and perform duties at the terminal, including truck loading, vessel unloading, and transfer of cement.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or technical degree preferred.
- Experience with rebuilding gearboxes, shaft alignment, and bearing installation desired.
- Knowledge of terminal operations or comparable heavy industrial environment preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
