Salary

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $192,000 to $264,500 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, and location. This includes a base salary plus commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) or restricted stock units and bonus opportunities.

Job Description

This role involves overseeing revenue close accounting activities, leading projects, developing new processes, and improving the month-end revenue close process. As a Director of Financial Excellence, you will be responsible for managing specific areas of revenue accounting, including transactional, internal controls, and SEC reporting.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to the CAO and CFO, providing guidance on revenue accounting, financial reporting, process, systems, and control matters. Your expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition accounting principles within enterprise and SaaS/software companies will be invaluable to our team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Senior Accounting Leadership: 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally beginning in a Big Four public accounting firm. Recent experience as a Director of Revenue Accounting in complex public company settings is ideal.
  • Relevant Organizational Experience: Experience working in a publicly traded, global company with a team geographically disbursed. Experience building and up-leveling high-performing accounting and controls organizations.
  • Revenue Recognition: Expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition accounting principles within enterprise and SaaS/software companies.
  • Driving Results: Ability to create a clear strategic vision for the team, executing on that to ensure the business meets and surpasses its goals. A strong sense of urgency in meeting targets, benchmarking own work and the team's work to drive operational excellence.
  • Leading People: Comfortable leading a diverse international team. Engage the accounting team to understand Palo Alto Networks' direction and organizational vision, how accounting contributes to larger, strategic goals.
