About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Elections Training Coordinator to join our team at Bexar County, TX. As a key member of our Elections Department, you will be responsible for developing and presenting election training and outreach programs, as well as assisting with the preparation and implementation of division policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Present Election Training Programs: Create and deliver training programs for poll sites and voting systems, ensuring compliance with the Texas Election Code.
  • Conduct Post-Election Evaluations: Develop performance measures and conduct evaluations of election judge, alternate, and clerk accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Develop Election Information Programs: Create and present election information programs for public service forums and special interest group meetings.
  • Assist with Policy and Procedure Implementation: Help prepare and implement division policies and procedures manual.
  • Recruit Election Judges: Recruit registered voters to serve as election judges and prepare nomination lists for approval.
  • Provide Election Information: Prepare and provide oral and written responses to questions from the Secretary of State and other government agencies.
  • Assist with Budget Development: Assist the Elections Administrator with department budget development.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Technology, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: Two years of instruction and training program development experience.
  • Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of current poll site, election judge, and voting system equipment procedures; good knowledge of poll site voter registration and voter eligibility requirements.
  • Abilities: Ability to explain and instruct staff, election workers, and others regarding poll site and voting system procedures; ability to understand and apply the Texas Election Code.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
  • Working conditions are in an office environment.
  • Occasionally moves items weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasionally moves about the office.
  • Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
