At Wellpath, we are committed to providing quality care to every patient with compassion, collaboration, and innovation. As a Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, you will work under the direct supervision of a Health Services Administrator or higher medical professional, assisting in providing medical care and treatment to the inmate population.

You will coordinate patient care plans by conducting assessments, developing plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes, all while working collaboratively with the healthcare team and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily sick call, carry out treatments, and follow standardized procedures and protocols.
  • Provide emergency care for identified medical emergencies and coordinate patient transfers to appropriate facilities.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures, repair lacerations, and remove sutures.
  • Treat and manage non-psychotic behavioral health disorders and provide ongoing care for patients on maintenance doses of non-psychotic medications.
  • Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, document findings using the S.O.A.P.E. method, and attend quarterly Quality Management meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Education: Completion of a masters program in nursing (NPs) or an accredited education program for PAs.
  • Experience: Previous correctional/detention facility experience, minimum two (2) years experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice, current DEA registration, and current lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA.
