The Patient Scheduling Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring excellent patient care, which contributes to optimal clinical outcomes and addresses the needs of our patients.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Patient Scheduling Specialist will be responsible for welcoming patients, managing phone communications, organizing appointments, collecting patient financial obligations, and preparing patient documentation.
- Delivers high-level customer service while engaging with patients, referring offices, and team members through various communication channels.
- Welcomes patients and visitors promptly with a warm and friendly attitude.
- Answers incoming calls with professionalism and a positive demeanor.
- Coordinates appointments to enhance patient satisfaction, optimize provider schedules, and ensure efficient use of examination and treatment spaces.
- Creates daily schedules for each provider.
- Prepares and organizes patient documentation.
- Oversees patient flow to minimize wait times.
- Assists patients as needed.
- Keeps the reception area tidy and organized.
- Maintains a professional rapport with referring offices.
- Ensures confidentiality of all information in compliance with regulations.
- Performs additional related tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in customer service is required.
- Familiarity with dental terminology.
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
- Basic office skills, including typing and filing.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
