The Lighthouse for The Blind in New Orleans is seeking a highly skilled Project Director to lead the Disability Innovation Fund (DIF) Demonstration Project. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, planning, coordination, and administration to achieve project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define project goals, objectives, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Maintain project coherence by aligning project needs and objectives with the organization's mission.
  • Develop a working knowledge of each department to optimize project objectives across the organization.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders and team members, maintaining open communication to support project progress.
  • Manage resources, organize work, coordinate teams, and maintain project momentum, providing weekly updates to the COO.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in health, business, social science, or a closely related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years' experience managing complex projects, including budget management, contract management, reporting, and team coordination.
  • Experience with federal grant management preferred.
Working Conditions:

The Project Director will work in office and industrial settings, with some travel required across the 30-parish region.

The ideal candidate will be a proven leader who can inspire and motivate teams, with excellent organizational skills, time management, analytical, and communication skills.
