Patient Care Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Associate to join our Vascular Surgery team at Albany Medical Center.
Job Summary:
The Patient Care Associate will work under the direction of the Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in the Vascular Surgery department. This role involves collecting patient data, performing personal care tasks, and assisting with caring for patients with a focus on progress toward discharge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect patient data and information relative to their health or situation, including vital signs, height and weight, and food and fluid intake and output.
- Report abnormal findings to the RN and patient care team.
- Participate in care planning and the nursing report process.
- Provide personal care to patients, including bathing, oral care, and skin care.
- Assist patients with eating and hydration, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Employ strategies to promote a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
- Document all care in the patient record.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
