Job Summary:

The 4-H Assistant will assist in planning, development, and implementation of various 4-H programs, including Cloverbuds, Afterschool, Teen Council, Junior Teen Council, and Summer Camps. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining program topics, writing lesson plans, and developing surveys to evaluate program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in planning and development of 4-H programs, including curriculum design and implementation.
  2. Determine program topics and write lesson plans to ensure effective delivery of programs.
  3. Develop promotional materials, assist in recruiting youth and volunteers, and prepare supply lists for programs.
  4. Perform various tasks related to 4-H participation, including county fair, contests, fundraisers, awards programs, and workshops.
  5. Utilize computer skills to access data, lessons plans, and resources via the internet, and conduct research to determine suitable lessons and curricula for 4-H programs.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, the 4-H Assistant must have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus knowledge and experience with the 4-H Youth Development Program. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong ability to multitask.

Working Conditions:

The 4-H Assistant will work 12-15 hours per week, with occasional evenings and weekends required. The position is contingent on funds, need, and performance from year to year.
