JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview

Department: Ultrasound Services

Work Schedule: 20:00-06:30 Hours, Monday to Friday (4 Days/10 Hours)

Weekly Commitment: 40 Hours

This role is designated for a sonographer skilled in conducting both vascular and general ultrasound examinations, including Abdomen, Pelvic, Upper and Lower Extremity Dopplers, Renal Dopplers, and specialized pediatric assessments. RVT certification is mandatory for Tuesday through Friday on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and set up hemodynamic and electrophysiologic devices during medical procedures.
  • Register patients, confirm medical histories, and ensure patient comfort.
  • Assist physicians in diagnosing and managing cardiac and peripheral vascular conditions.
  • Perform EKGs, treadmill stress tests, and non-invasive vascular assessments.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and stay updated with job-related knowledge.
Qualifications
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Certification from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Patient-centered approach with a minimum of two years of experience as a Vascular Tech/Sonographer.
  • Graduation from an accredited Sonography Vascular Tech program.
  • Active and unencumbered Sonography Texas state license.
  • One year of experience with Cerner.
  • ARRT Certification.
Requirements

• Completion of COVID vaccination, including 2 shots and a booster.
