Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM/CAD Designer II to join our team at Freese and Nichols. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing project-level input, developing trusted relationships with engineers, and preparing detailed drawings and sketches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take a holistic view of the project and provide input at the project level.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with engineers based on demonstrated input and outcomes.
  • Prepare detailed drawings and sketches of complex designs requiring theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.
  • Perform discipline design tasks that require the application of fundamental engineering concepts.
  • Provide conceptual input to projects during the planning stages.
  • Generate redline markups for CAD staff to complete.
  • Ensure output is professional and consistent with prevailing standards.
  • Interface with other departments, clients, vendors, and project engineers to support project production.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to staff.
  • Perform quality control on deliverables and provide Continuous Improvement input.
  • May lead CAD activities on projects.
  • May manage the CAD library for the discipline.
Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in engineering design and technical support of engineering.
  • Advanced expertise in computer operation and CAD software.
  • Proven ability to learn, adapt, and problem solve to produce accurate and quality deliverables.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in CAD preferred.
