Job Summary

MRD Lighting is seeking a highly skilled Lighting Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for coordinating the procurement and distribution of lighting equipment, materials, and supplies for our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Coordination: Coordinate all activities related to procurement, from intent to purchase to delivery of product to client.
  • Client Requirements Analysis: Analyze client requirements, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date needed.
  • Supplier Investigation: Investigate and/or interview potential suppliers to determine if they meet specified requirements.
  • Supplier Selection: Work with our design, custom, and build teams to select the appropriate supplier.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate the lowest possible cost for equipment, materials, parts, and supplies, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs.
  • Purchase Order Creation: Create purchase orders that comply with company standards, contracts, and client requirements.
  • Delivery and Logistics: Ensure that specified product is delivered on schedule, at negotiated price, and meets quality standards of company and end client.
  • Logistics Coordination: Work closely with our logistics team to ensure logistics needs are met, including worldwide shipping of product.
  • Procurement Sheet Updates: Update procurement sheets (Google Docs) to provide up-to-date information on product delivery and logistics.
  • Vendor and Factory Relations: Resolve vendor/factory order and delivery issues.
  • Quality Control: Manage and resolve quality control issues.
  • Research and Development: Research discrepancies between equipment, materials, parts, and supplies delivered against specs, orders, and invoices, and resolve any issues.
  • Technology Research: Review new technologies, equipment, materials, and products for possible future use.
Requirements
  • Experience: Three years demonstrated experience in purchasing or related areas.
  • Qualifications: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures/specs, write reports, business correspondence, and effectively present information to employees, vendors, and clients.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, inventory, order processing, QuickBooks, project management, and design software.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate in person, electronically, and over the telephone.
