Program Overview:
The Parents as Teachers (P.A.T.) initiative is designed to equip parents with essential insights into early childhood growth and development. This program offers in-home educational support to empower parents in fostering their child's development, identifying potential developmental delays early, and enhancing their readiness for school through the P.A.T. curriculum.

Position Overview:
  • The Family Support Educator conducts weekly home visits for families who have not received services from local early intervention programs or those concerned about their child's developmental progress.
  • This role involves collaborating with family members and caregivers to ensure that all services provided are culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate, adhering to the guidelines of The Parents As Teachers Early Intervention Program.
  • Responsibilities include performing family-centered assessments, setting goals with families, organizing monthly Group Connections, linking families to external resources, and advocating for necessary services to help families achieve their objectives.
  • Managing a caseload of 15 families, the Family Support Educator is responsible for planning, delivering, and completing data entry within specified timeframes while working collaboratively with team members.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Social Work, Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a related discipline.
  • At least two years of experience working with children aged 0-5 and their families.
  • Experience supporting families and children with developmental delays.
  • Background in working with families and children with special needs.
  • Familiarity with the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP).
  • Experience in home visitation and group education settings.
  • Knowledge of typical and atypical child development.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Level One fingerprint clearance card.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and vehicle, meeting agency insurance requirements.
  • Adherence to current COVID-19 workplace safety protocols as determined by federal guidelines.
