Duties and Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment and TreatmentNew Life's Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will conduct thorough assessments to evaluate patients' mental health status, formulate accurate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management options.
  • Collaboration and CommunicationThe successful candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients, promoting mental health awareness and wellness among them.
  • Clinical CompetenceMaintaining clinical competency and collaborating with psychiatrists are essential responsibilities of this role.
  • Documentation and Quality ImprovementThe Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility.
  • Additional ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have a strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
Requirements
  • A valid license as a Registered Nurse and completion of an Advanced Practice Nurse Program for Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania are required.
  • Direct experience with outpatient communities is preferred.
  • Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) certification is necessary.
