About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Information Security Advisor to join our team at Cigna. Key Responsibilities
  • SIEM Management: Administration, CIM mapping, and platform management of a Splunk/Splunk SaaS platform.
  • Log Source Management: Enrolling log sources, administration, content development, and working with SIEM customers/stakeholders across the globe.
  • Platform Development: Building new capabilities and installing new applications from the app exchange to extend functionality.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitoring the impact of deploying new content to the health and performance of the SIEM.
  • Security Policy Development: Creation and improvement of security policies, processes, and procedures, and other SIEM-related documentation.
  • Logging and Event Management: Leading logging enrollments from multi-tier applications into the enterprise logging platforms.
  • Parser Development: Modifying existing parsers, as well as implementing and testing custom parsers and log source extensions to capture and correlate events from non-standard log sources.
  • Deployment Evaluation: Evaluating deployment to identify flaws and key areas for improvement in effort to maintain an optimal SIEM operating environment.
  • Problem Resolution: Comprehending error logs and acting as an escalation point for underlying event collection and correlation components.
Requirements
  • Expert-Level Experience: Expert-level administrative and engineering experience with Splunk and Splunk SaaS.
  • Security Engineering: 5+ years of security engineering experience in mid-sized to large organizations, with emphasis on security operations, incident management, intrusion detection, firewall deployment, and security event analysis.
  • SIEM and UEBA Experience: 3+ years of experience with SIEM and UEBA technologies.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills, including experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, scripting languages like Python, and regular expressions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work with matrixed resources in a team environment.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to ensure activities are in alignment with the business objectives and risk management framework.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 8, typically 12 or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT, or the equivalent in education and work experience.
  • Certifications: One or more of the following certifications is preferred: CISSP, CCNA Security +, AWS Security, CCNP Security, CCIE, CCSP, CCIE, CCA, ITIL.
