Position Overview

The Culinary Support Specialist will assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality meals in large volumes. Responsibilities include updating recipes and managing meal production tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation and cooking, adhering to recipes and production sheets.
  • Prepare and maintain cold count sheets and daily load sheets for drivers.
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure compliance with safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Operate kitchen equipment and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Manage inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO) principles, ensuring necessary ingredients are available for upcoming meals.
  • Utilize the SERVtracker system for meal operations, including ordering and tracking updates for all sites.
  • Ensure proper packaging and labeling of finished products.
  • Maintain accurate records on temperature logs, production sheets, and compliance with Health Department regulations.
  • Support outreach initiatives to expand client services.
  • Assist in ordering supplies from vendors and maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and delivery areas.
  • Guide volunteers and workers in completing assigned tasks and lead kitchen operations in the absence of the Cook.
  • Deliver meals as needed using a box truck or personal vehicle.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Health Department regulations and food storage protocols.
  • Preferred: Two years of experience in institutional cooking.
  • Preferred: ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification.


Compensation details: $16 per hour
