Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.

Salary: $83,000 - $88,500 per year

Job Summary:

  • To provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • To assess and treat urgent care and emergency care patients, making informed decisions based on comprehensive assessments and subjective data provided by patients.
  • To diagnose and prescribe therapy, routing patients to higher levels of care as necessary.
  • To assist in developing and implementing protocols and practice guidelines that decrease costs while enhancing quality of care.
Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Masters degree as required for the specific Advanced Practice Provider role.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet performance standards outlined in applicable laws and professional practice standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage heavy workloads with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient in using computing hardware and software, including electronic medical records, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Regular and consistent attendance at work.
  • Current licensure as required for the specific Advanced Practice Provider governing board(s).
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner or certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Current Oregon NP or PA license prior to start date.
  • Current PALS certification.
  • Registered with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and authorized to prescribe medications according to the Washington State Board of Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Emergency Medicine as a PA or NP.
Responsibilities

Clinical Activities:

  • Assessing and treating urgent care and emergency care patients.
  • Diagnosing and prescribing therapy.
  • Routing patients to higher levels of care as necessary.

Administrative Activities:

  • Assisting in decreasing costs through the development and use of protocols and practice guidelines.

Other Activities:

  • Participating in Emergency Department quality assurance activities.
  • Enhancing cost-effectiveness and quality of care.
  • Increasing patient satisfaction.
