Road Mechanic

Job Summary:
The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Road Mechanic to join our team. As a Road Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel and gasoline heavy equipment and trucks in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all work adhering to OSHA, PA and DoT regulations, and H&K Safety policies
- Review job orders and observe equipment operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures
- Identify parts for repairs or replacement for all systems on equipment/trucks
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on equipment/trucks and make adjustments
- Dismantle equipment/trucks to examine parts for defect or remove defective part
- Replace defective part with new part or repair/reproduce part from various kinds of metal
- Assemble and test operate machine or test drive trucks to verify correction of malfunction and confirm it meets manufactures specifications
- Overhaul gas or diesel engines
- Perform diagnostics through the use of computers and various equipment
- Perform front end inspection and alignments
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR relevant experience and/or training
- CDL B
- Clean driving record
- Customer Service and Teamwork
- General computer knowledge as well as Caterpillar software (ET & SIS)
- Ability to use mechanics hand tools, torch, and welder
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Work Environment:
Occasional exposure to moving parts, fumes, and airborne particles. Noise level is loud at times. At times required to work outdoors in all environments. Hours regularly exceed 40 hours a week and 8 hours a day.
