Join Our Team as a Senior RF Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior RF Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of electrical systems for our spacecraft. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure the highest level of quality, reliability, and performance of our spacecraft.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the rapid design, development, and testing of high-reliability RF and electrical systems for spacecraft engineering and development efforts.
  • Drive requirements capture, component selection, analysis, bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test for electrical designs.
  • Perform system-level integration of RF and electrical subsystems, including hardware and software interfaces.
  • Perform first article testing, unit level testing, and production testing.
  • Support hardware through production, integration, and launch.
  • Work with experts from other teams and departments to drive changes that make the system more efficient, manufacturable, and reliable and to ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance processes.
  • Define validation approach and create development and qualification testing campaigns to exercise designs to their limits and ensure reliable hardware.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for electrical systems and components, including design specifications, test plans, and operating procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience with RF systems design and link budgets.
  • Electronics design experience preferred.
  • Advanced experience in Altium Designer or RF simulation software (matlab, HFSS, etc).
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Master's degree in aerospace or electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience with spacecraft electrical system design and testing.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft power systems, avionics, and communication subsystems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to spacecraft RF and electrical systems.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB, and Simulink.
  • Experience with regulatory filing committee's and processes.
  • Experience in antenna design, harness design, and PCB design.
  • Experience with encryption algorithms, preferable NSA type 1.
  • Experience with common waveform standards and forward error correction such as CCSDS and DVB-S2.
  • Experience with file transfer protocols and memory storage.
Compensation:

Colorado Base Salary: $140,000-$180,000

California Base Salary: $174,000-$202,000

Additional Requirements:

Work Location - this role will be onsite at our GravityWorks factory in Centennial, CO. Expectation to be in the office 4 days per week.

Physical demands - the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
