Job Title: Data Infrastructure Engineering Team Lead

Western Digital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Infrastructure Engineering Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of software developers in designing, implementing, and deploying data infrastructure solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software design, implementation, and real-time data processing. You will work closely with engineers to analyze complex manufacturing and scientific devices, devise a data collection and storage strategy, and implement robust data validation and quality assurance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of software developers to foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Work with a team to develop and deploy programs to collect data from IoT devices, such as manufacturing and scientific tools used for media development.
  • Ensure high reliability of processes, data integrity, and accuracy by implementing robust data validation and quality assurance practices.
  • Transfer software to other sites in Asia.
  • Add new features, perform maintenance tasks.
  • Consult with engineers in the media organization to understand their data needs.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to maintain code quality and best practices.
  • Report progress to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in software design and implementation.
  • Strong proficiency in coding in various forms, such as Python, C++, Java, SQL, etc.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoy working on highly complex projects involving engineers from many different teams.
