Physician Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our team at Wellpath, a mission-driven organization committed to providing quality care to the underserved population. As a Physician Assistant, you will work under the direct supervision of a Health Services Administrator or higher medical professional, providing medical care and treatment to inmates in a correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct daily sick call, carry out treatments, and follow standardized procedures and protocols.
- Provide emergency care for identified medical emergencies and coordinate patient transfers to appropriate facilities.
- Perform minor surgical procedures, repair lacerations, and remove sutures.
- Treat and manage non-psychotic behavioral health disorders and provide ongoing care for patients on maintenance doses of non-psychotic medications.
- Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, document findings using the S.O.A.P.E. method, and attend quarterly Quality Management meetings.
- Education: Completion of a masters program in nursing (NPs) or an accredited education program for PAs.
- Experience: Previous correctional/detention facility experience, minimum two (2) years experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice, current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration, and current lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA.
