We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technician 2 Certified to join our team at Methodist Southlake Medical Center. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and obtain instrumentation and supplies as needed.
- Pass instruments to the surgeon and assistant during procedures.
- Assist with terminal cleaning of the room and preparation for the next case.
- Begin cleaning up the back table and preparing instruments for terminal cleaning and sterilization.
- Place instruments back in the tray for transport to the Sterile Processing Department.
- Responsible for knowing and adhering to all policies and procedures, including count policy, universal protocol, and labeling of medications.
- Work with students and inexperienced staff on correct methods for passing and retrieving instruments during surgical procedures.
