Job Title: Lead - Transportation Operational Excellence

About the Role:

The Lead - Transportation Operational Excellence will be responsible for overseeing the operational and commercial management of all first, middle, and last mile carrier agreements. This includes ensuring adherence to high performance standards, operating procedures, and business rules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation management, carrier management, and logistics project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Ecommerce and Wholesale business counterparts to identify customer expectations and build solutions roadmaps.
  • Deliver ON's transportation cost and quality goals through the procurement of freight and last mile transportation service partners.
  • Partner closely with regional, global, and respective finance teams to develop a carrier portfolio based on demand coverage, middle mile connectivity, time in transit, and end-to-end costs.
  • Ensure customer and merchant-facing SLAs match the obligations of its transportation service providers.
  • Research and develop key distribution strategies to manage logistics cost and performance.
  • Partner with Logistics team members to manage carrier quality and execution.
  • Maintain open communication with stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Own carrier-facing governance mechanisms, including daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and business reviews.
  • Own carrier compliance/sourcing risk management on behalf of ON.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation management, carrier management, and/or logistics project management.
  • 5+ years of negotiating with third-party service providers.
  • 5+ years of experience in extracting data, analyzing results, and developing recommendations to senior leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience working with various cross-functional teams locally and globally.
  • Project management experience in the development, implementation, and management of various size projects.
  • Familiarity with DDP, DDU, Section 321, and other cross-border/international shipments and complex international shipping flows.
