Position Overview

This role involves providing essential support to clients in various daily living activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting consumers with personal hygiene, dining skills, and community engagement.
  • Facilitating training activities as outlined in Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
  • Providing mobility assistance for individuals using wheelchairs and other devices.
  • Supporting meal service and promoting social skills during dining experiences.
  • Administering medications and treatments in accordance with company policies.
  • Acting as a Primary Person (P2) for assigned consumers, ensuring their well-being.
  • Completing required training sessions and serving as a mentor to fellow professionals.
  • Documenting observations and daily reports as per agency procedures.
  • Assisting with transportation needs as necessary.
  • Contributing to the Individual Support Team by providing input on ISPs.
  • Monitoring activities to ensure safety and health practices are upheld.
  • Participating in the daily operations of the home, including grocery shopping and medication management.
  • Upholding the dignity and respect of all consumers.
  • Encouraging independence and empowerment among clients.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience in supporting individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Successful completion of background checks as required by law.
