Talon Recruiting has partnered with a leading Heavy Equipment Dealer to fill a Heavy Equipment Sales Representative position in Spokane, WA. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling and renting heavy-duty equipment to government customers, including city, county, and state agencies. The company provides a full line-up of heavy machinery covering general production, aggregate processing, road, and compact utility equipment from well-known companies. The successful applicant will be responsible for representing the Company in the territory by delivering profitable sales and rental results, including:

  • Managing a designated territory to maximize the company's presence on equipment purchases.
  • Growing and developing customer relationships and brand loyalty to increase market share, total revenue, and gross profit.
  • Working with customers and potential customers to provide solutions to their equipment needs, providing on-site expertise for demonstrations, machine inspections, and technical support.
  • Quoting and negotiating prices, delivering contracts, and closing orders.
  • Attending training and sales meetings as required to stay current with new equipment and special promotions, keeping accurate and up-to-date information in the Company's sales tracking system and controlling sales expenses.
Compensation and Benefits:

Includes salary, commissions, 401(k) match, and medical and dental insurance. Employees receive paid time off, including vacation, sick days, and holidays. Sales Reps also get a company vehicle, laptop, and cell phone.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Five years of experience in construction equipment sales to government accounts is preferred, but experience in a related equipment sector will be considered.
  • College degree preferred. Equipment sales experience may be substituted or combined with education.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications, such as Microsoft Office, online machine specification and ordering software, and other internet-based programs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, general business periodicals, and governmental regulations. Ability to occasionally write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, managers, suppliers, and the general public.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong references from former employers and colleagues.
