The Role

We're seeking a compassionate and thoughtful Medical Assistant to join our team in Green Bay. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our practitioners with patients, escorting patients to rooms, collecting urine specimens, taking vital signs, and patient teaching as directed by a physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist practitioners with patients, including escorting patients to rooms, collecting urine specimens, and taking vital signs
  • May assist nursing staff in admitting patients in the pre-operative area
  • Informs nursing staff of any patient concerns
  • May assist in the post-operative execution of physician orders
  • Assists physician with treatment of patients, including handling of instruments, tube changes, dilations, catheterizations, and Foley insertions
  • Draws and administers injections, oral medications, bladder installations, etc.
  • Assists with surgery and/or procedures as requested
  • Schedules required tests
  • Talks with patients regarding scheduled tests and test results
  • Answers minor medical problem questions for patients
  • Makes telephone calls to patients regarding physician orders and/or prescription medications
  • Stocks medical and drug supplies
  • Assists in routine cleaning of patient rooms, waiting areas, and toys
  • Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly sterilizer tests
  • Accurately documents all care provided to the patient in the patient's medical record
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and a valid certification preferred
  • Experience and training as a medical assistant with demonstration of appropriate competencies may be accepted in lieu of completion of medical assistant program
  • 6 months - 1 year of prior Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with the software used at the practice site
