About the Role:

The Oncology Patient Navigator at Medicine Journal plays a vital role in ensuring seamless and comprehensive services for oncology patients throughout their disease continuum. This position requires a skilled and compassionate nurse to partner with patients, their families, and healthcare teams to create a smooth transition from suspicion of disease through treatment and survivorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with patients and their families to identify potential and realized barriers to care
  • Develop relationships with primary care physicians to facilitate education on patient screenings and access to oncology services
  • Collaborate with community organizations to promote awareness of services and support cancer patients
  • Act as a liaison within the facility and community to promote awareness of Erlanger's Cancer Center services
  • Collect data, track outcomes, and support strategic planning processes

Requirements:

  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the state of Tennessee
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (required within 2 years of hire)
  • 1 year nursing experience
  • Oncology experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN)
  • Specialty certification as appropriate within 2 years as determined by manager
