About the Position

The University of North Texas System is seeking a highly qualified Professional Faculty member to join our Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of hospitality and tourism professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in restaurant operations, catering, and event management, with a focus on hands-on learning and industry-relevant skills.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods to ensure students understand food production, culinary methods, and management practices.
  • Collaborate with department and college faculty and staff to plan and develop recipes, menus, and production schedules.
  • Monitor teaching and learning effectiveness, and provide feedback to students.
  • Travel to off-campus locations to monitor students and teach classes, as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Food Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of work-related experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on restaurant operations and management.
  • Prior teaching experience and industry engagement/membership are highly desirable.
  • ServSafe certification and American Culinary Federation certification are required.
