About the Role:

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team at Imperium Global. In this pivotal role, you will be key in managing the purchasing and warehousing activities for our cement plant and terminals. Your responsibilities will include developing and negotiating goods and services agreements, ensuring compliance, and identifying process improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and negotiate goods and services agreements to ensure compliance and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives in purchasing, contract management, supplier selection, sourcing of services, inventory parts, consumables, raw materials, fuels, and carrier needs.
  • Collaborate with parent companies to leverage existing agreements and identify competitive goods and services.
  • Conduct competitive bidding and negotiate product supply and service agreements.
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies, processes, and strategic plans.
  • Manage physical warehouse operations, cycle counts, inventory flow, and associated costs.
  • Drive inventory reduction initiatives and perform min/max analysis.
  • Develop and manage procurement and inventory management key performance indicators.
  • Participate in annual budgeting with an understanding of maintenance costs, commodities needs, and parts and materials inventory management.
  • Provide monthly accruals and cost projections in collaboration with the Finance group.
  • Oversee contractor insurance requirements with the support of the Purchasing Agent.
  • Support plant operations as needed and perform any other duties assigned by plant management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • University or College degree in a technical, economic, financial, or business field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in purchasing and contract management in a manufacturing/production and/or construction environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office 2000 applications.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills, organized, and experienced in managing personnel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple independent projects.
  • Demonstrated drive, initiative, openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.

Preferred Skills:

  • CPM, APP, CPP, or APIC professional accreditation.
