About the Role

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in our interdisciplinary team, working closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the guidance of supervising physical therapists, acquire pertinent information and implement comprehensive treatment programs using varied techniques and treatment activities.
  • Review and modify treatment plans in response to changing patient needs, identifying equipment and discharge needs.
  • Assist patients in preparing for treatment and provide treatment to diverse diagnostic populations, completing supporting documentation according to hospital policy and state practice act.
  • Communicate and collaborate with support personnel regarding treatment orders, applying physical agents, therapeutic exercises, or gait-training activities as outlined by the licensed physical therapist.
  • Progress patients in an appropriate manner when deemed necessary by the physical therapist, conducting class/group situations as appropriate.
  • Observe treatment effects, accomplishment of short and long-term goals, and recommend changes to the supervising physical therapist, if needed.
  • Comply with department, hospital, and regulatory agency guidelines with respect to ethics, legal issues, and supervisory relationships.
  • Demonstrate professional accountability per APTA Physical Therapy Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
  • Communicate effectively with team members through the continuum of care, completing timely and accurate documentation, including QI scoring, of patient treatment in the patient medical record.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state where the hospital is located.
  • Inpatient rehab experience preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR Card.
