Job Overview

The Assistant Health Director plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of participants and staff at the Telluride Association Summer Seminar (TASS) located at the University of Maryland College Park. The position involves direct support to the Health Director, providing assistance with medical check-ins, supervising health and sanitation, and addressing health emergencies. Responsibilities
  • Program Preparation: Review participant medical histories, communicate with parents and staff, prepare the infirmary, and complete required training certifications.
  • Program Operations: Assist with implementing safety plans, supervise health and sanitation, conduct initial health screenings, address emergencies, maintain medical logs, and provide medication management.
Requirements
  • A Maryland certification or Compact Nursing License for roles such as Physician, CRNP, RN, LPN, CMT, or CMA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage high-stress environments.
  • Proficiency in Google Drive and other web-based communication apps.
Work Environment
  • Essential physical requirements: Use of computer, phone, and office equipment; travel and evening/weekend work.
  • Visual: normal concentration.
  • Hazards: limited exposure; may include exposure to ill program participants.
