Job Summary

The University of Maryland seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate Director for Administration and Technology to oversee the overall management, organizational planning, and coordination of all Administrative, Business, and Technology activities for the Department.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Budgeting and financial analysis
  2. Accounting activities including A/P; A/R and payroll
  3. Purchasing and Inventory management
  4. Human Resources
  5. Financial policies, procedures, and audits
  6. Marketing and Communications
  7. Point-of-Sale Systems and Technology

With a budget of over $90 million, this role oversees a team of up to 30 professional staff, including Business Office, Dining Plan Office, Human Resources, Marketing, Payroll, Procurement, and Technology.

Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership in a high-volume financial, communication, and procurement environment.
  3. At least 8 years at a senior level position with supervisory responsibility.
  4. Strong commitment to Customer Service – both internal and external.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills when representing the department as a liaison.

Preferred qualifications include advanced knowledge of sound financial practices and procedures, experience with food management systems, point-of-sales systems, or other related software applications, and working knowledge of Workday, Concur, and e-Procurement.
