Plasma Center Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Plasma Center Nurse to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors, while also contributing to the success of our plasma collection operations.
Key Responsibilities- Donor Eligibility: Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Medical Support: Evaluate and manage donor reactions, which occur at the facility, as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including the execution of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Donor Deferral: Manage donor deferral; reviews test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results per applicable SOPs.
- Post Donation Information: Initiation and investigation of PDI.
- Collaboration: Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, problem-solving, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent graduate of a recognized educational nursing program.
- Experience: Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Certifications: Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification required.
