Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $85,000.00 and $170,000.00. The specific salary offered will depend on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and an assessment of current market compensation for similar roles. This position may also qualify for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to competitive cash compensation, SMBC provides a robust benefits package to its employees.

Role Overview
SMBC Capital Markets Inc. is seeking an Application Software Engineer within the Software Development department. This role supports mid-office, finance, and operations functions.

Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the technical design of software solutions for the Capital Market business, encompassing both internal and external applications.

- Collaborate on mission-critical projects, providing technical expertise in development environments, technology architecture, and implementation.

- Work closely with business users and analysts to ensure applications align with user specifications and requirements.

- Engage with the broader development team to share design insights and contribute to the team's overall objectives.


Qualifications and Skills
- 3-10 years of professional experience in software development and systems implementation.
- Proficient in designing and architecting software solutions.

- Demonstrated experience in developing enterprise-quality software solutions across multi-technology environments, with a solid understanding of the impact of changes on these environments.

- Strong proficiency in C# and Microsoft .NET.
- Development experience in web technologies, including ASP.NET, MVC, JQuery, JavaScript, IIS, and Angular.
- Familiarity with database concepts and experience in relational databases, preferably SQL Server.
- Expertise in WEB API (REST services) and Web Services.
- Experience in BPM development or OpenText MBPM (Metastorm) development is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Python and C/C++ is a plus.
- Knowledge of Fixed Income business and products is beneficial.
- Educational background in computer science from a reputable program (or equivalent).
