Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Consumer and Community Banking division at JPMorgan Chase. As a key member of our Global Customer Platform team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering cutting-edge technology solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and business stakeholders. You will work closely with application teams to understand their infrastructure and monitoring needs, and apply Site Reliability Engineering principles to ensure the stability and scalability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software solutions that meet business requirements and customer needs
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver software projects on time and within budget
  • Collaborate with application teams to understand their infrastructure and monitoring needs
  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering principles to ensure system stability and scalability
  • Develop and implement performance test frameworks to verify application service
  • Provide technical assistance to improve system performance, capacity, reliability, and scalability

Requirements:

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Proficiency in principles of Site Reliability Engineering and operational stability
  • Hands-on experience in one of programming languages (Java, Python, Scripting)
  • Advanced knowledge of Web Services – SOAP, REST
  • Experience of supporting using APM tools and monitoring dashboards in a large corporate environment like banking and finance
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in performance testing using tools like Blazemeter and jMeter
  • Understanding of Java-Spring based microservices application infrastructure and its deployment model
