Job Summary:

The Box Shop Team Lead is responsible for the daily coordination of assigned areas, including training and monitoring production processes of a small group of team members. This position will also be responsible for providing a safe work environment, ensuring standard work is being performed, maintaining 5S levels, identifying and resolving quality issues, implementing lean concepts and improvements, addressing line stop/lost production issues, collecting data and maintaining visual displays, participating in TIP Events, and filling in for absent team members on an as needed basis per supervisor's request.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The Box Shop Team Lead will enter and retrieve production information onto a computerized data entry screen or a custom-designed form. They will train new team members, communicate company philosophies and policies, teach, and demonstrate work routines. The team lead will study daily production schedules and estimate team members' hours and materials/equipment needed to complete assignments. They will recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality. The team lead will also suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment and tools that improve workflow, efficiency, and team member safety. They will maintain records of day-to-day activity, including time and materials and process steps. The team lead will perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position. They will use Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of 1 year of experience with PIT equipment, and a current PIT license. They will also have a minimum of 2 years of previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment. The candidate will possess a good understanding of Lean and its principles, be able to learn quickly and work independently and as part of a team, and have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. They will also have strong problem-solving skills, be able to make timely and independent decisions, and be comfortable and experienced working both with PC and RF mobile equipment. The candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to work in adverse weather conditions, and have intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

Working Conditions:
The Box Shop Team Lead will work in a warehouse environment, using PIT equipment, and will be required to lift, pull, push, and guide medium weight objects up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. They will also be required to walk, stand, reach, stoop, bend, and crawl on a continuous basis. The team lead will be required to have sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination to guide objects into specific placement or alignment, make intricate connections, and make precise measurements. They will also be required to have visual acuity to observe moving objects and events, select, and place materials, and auditory ability to project voice in a production environment and hear instructions.
