We're offering a competitive salary, with an estimated annual salary range of $83,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a sign-on bonus and relocation reimbursement, you'll enjoy 17% weekday night differentials, 26% weekend night differentials, and 15% weekend day shift differentials.
Job SummaryAs a Pediatric Nurse Specialist, you'll work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, while also providing clinical leadership and assuming relief charge duties when designated. You'll serve as a role model, promoting a positive work environment and quality patient care, and ensuring adherence to hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients, incorporating age-specific considerations and individualized care plans.
- Work within hospitals, nursing division, and departmental policies, while also participating in orientation and precepting new personnel.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained, and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients and families.
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, and document and communicate clinical findings.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, and attending in-services, meetings, and workshops.
- Foster a culture of patient safety, reporting potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and near misses in a timely manner.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A nationally accredited nursing graduate degree or a bachelor's degree in nursing (non-essential).
- No minimum experience required, but bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days, and RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
This is a heavy work position, requiring exertion of 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. You'll also work in a setting with potential chemical and biohazardous materials requiring personal protective equipment.
