About the Opportunity

This is a fantastic chance for a skilled Project Management Specialist - Heavy Infrastructure to join our team at WSP, supporting our Mountain Region Design Center. You will lead a team of technical resources to execute industrial EPCM (engineering, procurement and construction management) and study projects primarily focused on mining, minerals processing, water treatment, chemical processing, and other heavy industrial projects.

As a key member of our project management team, you will possess excellent leadership and team-building skills, including relevant soft skills and remote work team management experience. Your ideal background should be in mining or heavy industry project management, with experience assembling and managing project teams to complete contract requirements, while ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals are achieved.

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $130,000, depending on your experience and qualifications.

About the Role

  • Act as Project Manager on certain clients, communicating with clients to understand their objectives and assembling and leading a team of resources to successfully achieve those objectives within scope, schedule, budget, and safety requirements.
  • Be the primary point of contact with clients and ensure satisfactory progress is being made and, if necessary, promptly implement corrective actions.
  • Develop a fit-for-purpose Project Management Plan using the office's go-bys and templates.
  • Guide and assist Project Controls with development of an engineering schedule, obtaining input from the various disciplines, and then holding each accountable to the baseline schedule.
  • Coordinating technical input for Proposals and/or obtaining technical input from discipline engineers.
