Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our medical practices.
Responsibilities- Provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and teaching of residents and medical students.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing care.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols at a department and campus/system level.
- Utilize approved medical practices processes in the delivery of patient care.
- Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, including respect for privacy, communication style, and explanation of services or procedures.
- Master's degree in nursing or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences.
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing or State Board of Medical Examiners.
- 3 years of related working experience.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
