About the Role

Helen Woodward Animal Center is seeking a Senior Pet Medical Supervisor to lead our Adoptions Medical department. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly influence, manage, and lead the direction of our medical staff, working closely with the Adoption Services Director, Adoptions Medical Director, and Center Chief Veterinarian.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to build their leadership skills through training, coaching, and mentoring staff members while assisting in medical procedures and treating intake and adoptable animals. As a Registered Vet Technician (RVT) in California with experience managing staff in a veterinary environment, you will be able to provide daily management direction, objectives, and establish goals for the Adoptions medical staff members.

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling shifts to cover surgery, offsite and onsite intake, foster check-ups, and maintaining a departmental budget.
  • Proofing and approving bi-weekly staff timesheets, ensuring timely documentation, database management, staff 1 x 1's, and more.
  • Assisting the medical operations by performing surgery assistance, dental prophylaxis, and other general medical procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Current California RVT license is required.
  • 2+ years of experience managing/overseeing staff in a veterinary environment.
  • Possess RVT-level knowledge regarding radiography, surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, pharmacology, laboratory, and medicine as it pertains to small animal care.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $90,000 to $95,000 (commensurate with experience).
