Responsibilities

Prepares patients for procedures, administers prescribed medications, and performs diagnostic and treatment functions. Develops and updates patient care plans and individual health plans for young children. Provides direct patient care and assists physicians during rounds. Reviews patient medical records and informs physicians of healthcare needs. Monitors vital signs, symptoms, and responses to therapy, notifying physicians as necessary. Oversees care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and nursing students. Conducts blood draws, administers oxygen, intravenous therapy, and performs diagnostic tests. Manages narcotics, medications, and supplies. Ensures a clean and sanitary healthcare environment. Provides insights to staff committees and trains personnel on enhancing patient care. Educates patients and families on recommended home healthcare practices. Coordinates care delivery from community health and social service providers. Reports health outbreaks and relevant information to appropriate health authorities. Engages in administrative case management, reviews reports, conducts home visits, and evaluates services. Manages medical clinics, assists physicians, and provides outpatient care. Maintains and prepares patient medical records and reports. Conducts physical examinations and health screenings. Implements Occupational Medical Management guidelines and oversees service reimbursements. Performs other related duties as required.

Job Specifications

Comprehensive knowledge of nursing theories and practices. Familiarity with medications and their effects. Understanding of case management principles. Knowledge of healthcare plans and procedures. Proficient in applying nursing techniques. Ability to analyze situations and apply sound nursing principles in patient care decisions. Physical Requirements

Must be prepared to care for patients with chronic or critical conditions, some requiring continuous supervision. Ability to remain on feet for extended periods.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse license from the State of Florida.

Emergency Management Responsibilities
